About Savandurga:- 2hours drive, 70kms away from the City is Magadi taluk. A single monolithic rock, known as "Karibetta" & "Billibetta", rises at the height of 1500ft, which has five forts on the rock. This used to be a "KempeGowda's hideout". It is also known as "Savandurga State forest", this is a small tiny village hamlet amidst the forest. Here is a temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha swamy. Forest department has maintained a park, known as "Kempegowda Udyanavana".
About Ramanagaram:- 2 hours drive, 60kms away from the city on Mysore road is Ramanagaram. Which also known as "sholay" since a famous hindi movie "Sholay" was shot here. Here is a temple dedicated to Lord Rama on top of the hill. The rocks are ranked on international climbing standards. It is a well recognised globally for rock climbing.
About Kemmenagundi:- 256 kms away, lies in Chikkamagalur district. This is also known as "Krishna Rajendra Hill station", it is a the height of 5,200ft. The name is derived by its natural wealth, a red soil which is rich in minerals like Iron ore, hence it is named after "Kemmen - Red soil" and "Gundi- Abundantly found". This nestles amidst the Jaguar Valley of Bhadra wildlife sanctuary. This hill has two water falls, the biggest one is "Hebbe falls" inside the coffee estates, 10kms away and other one is "Kalhatti falls".
